  The most common method of cracking encrypted data is by adding an encryption layer using an attackers key. Encrypted data can be cracked, or decrypted, with enough time and computational resources, thus revealing the original contents. Even if a cybercriminal gains access to your network and files, encryption prevents him from gaining access to any of this information. Encrypting your cloud storage may stop hackers from reading your data, but it cannot prevent them from deleting it or vandalizing it.
